About the event

Being included, and belonging, feels good.

This year's theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.

This year we will have a panel discussion featuring our speakers. The panel will be discussing issues relevant to us as South Asian and Brown Women. Our speakers will also be inspiring us by sharing their journey with us. The good, the bad and the ugly - nothing is off limits for them.

Devni Wimalasena - An award winning activist, writer and content creator. Her focus spans gender equality, racism, colourism, and access to justice.

Sandy Jawande - A qualified oral health therapist and the proud owner of Smiles of Plenty, a business dedicated to spreading joy and confidence through dental care. She also is a media personality following her appearance in Married At First Sight Australia 2023.

Shilpa Bhim - Founder of GlowReel, a media startup dedicated to amplifying and elevating women of colour founders and community leaders in business, tech, and beyond!

Dr Suji Sanjeevan - Melbourne-based medically trained clinical researcher, who made the ultimate career change to become an ambience creator. Co-founder of the hugely successful Light & Glo and scent marketing company, Brandscent .

Additionally, there will be a South Asian Market, the BBB Bazaar, which will feature product based businesses owned and operated by South Asian Women!

In celebration of this years theme we are allowing for the first time ever, for men to attend our event. So feel free to bring your partner or friends to celebrate International Women's Day 2024. This is how we ourselves can bridge the gender divide gap.
