About the event
Money, Confidence & Choice is an interactive financial literacy and empowerment workshop created for multicultural women who want to feel more confident when it comes to managing, protecting and growing their money.
Hosted by Brown Boss Babes supported by City of Armadale, this welcoming, judgement-free session will make financial concepts feel practical, relatable and easier to navigate. There’s no test, no expectation that you already know the answers and no unnecessary jargon.
Together, we’ll explore the beliefs and cultural messages that can shape our relationship with money, why financial literacy matters for women, and practical foundations including budgeting, emergency savings, debt, superannuation, home ownership and protecting what you’ve built. We’ll also explore building wealth, creating additional sources of income and turning what you learn into a simple, achievable financial action plan.
Meet your facilitator: Gagan Kaur
The session will be facilitated by Gagan Kaur, a Perth-based finance professional with more than 15 years of experience in retail banking. Gagan is also involved with Gee Kay Lending Solutions, helping make lending and home finance easier to understand and navigate. Beyond her professional experience, she is a committee member with the South Asian Foundation of Australia – Brown Boss Babes and a member of the City of Armadale Multicultural Advisory Group.
Gagan brings together practical financial knowledge and a genuine commitment to supporting multicultural communities. Her approach is about making conversations around money feel accessible rather than intimidating, and giving women the confidence to ask questions, understand their options and make informed decisions about their financial futures.
Throughout the afternoon, there will be opportunities to reflect, participate in conversations with other women in the room and ask the financial questions you may not always feel comfortable asking elsewhere.
Come as you are. You don’t need to be a financial expert, you just need to be ready to take your next step.
