About the event

Join us for a powerful and inspiring International Women’s Day celebration. This is the first event of its kind in Western Australia to showcase an all South Asian women speaker line-up in honour of International Women’s Day.


This landmark afternoon brings together South Asian women from across Perth and beyond to connect, celebrate, and be seen. Guests will enjoy delicious food prepared by the Inchcolm Hotel’s exceptional onsite restaurant, creating the perfect setting for meaningful conversations and community building.


Hear from trailblazing South Asian women across industries who will share their stories, insights, and experiences of leadership, resilience, and impact. From entrepreneurs and professionals to creatives and change-makers, this event reflects the depth, diversity, and brilliance of our community.

    Shay Chadha (Naasha Events | Chai & Chutney) : Perth business owner, Brown Boss Babes Ambassador, and proud single mum of two. Shay runs three passion-led ventures spanning modern Indian fusion cocktail experiences, vibrant street-food catering for weddings and corporate events, and bridal glam with 14 years in the industry. Her work is rooted in culture, creativity, and creating spaces where women feel confident, celebrated, and connected.


    Akanksha Sinha (Kaasida): Perth-based entrepreneur originally from Lucknow, India, with a background in hospitality and marketing. In 2022, Akanksha founded Kaasida, inspired by Indian craftsmanship and heritage, and has since championed the centuries-old art of attar, oil-based fragrances handcrafted in Kannauj. She appeared on Shark Tank Australia in 2023, was featured on Channel 9’s Innovative Nation, and is also a founding member and Perth Representative of the South Asian Foundation Australia.


    Gagan Kaur: Finance professional and entrepreneur with almost 18 years in financial services and the founder of a mortgage broking business focused on guiding families through major financial decisions with clarity and care. Gagan is passionate about empowering women to build financial confidence and independence, while advocating for inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and support for the neurodivergent community. She also serves on the Multicultural Advisory Group at the City of Armadale.


    Shalona Thathiah (Modern Day Rani | Hashtag Creatives): Perth-based creative, entrepreneur, and proud mum. Shalona is the founder of Modern Day Rani, a South Asian bridal boutique redefining modern royalty, and Hashtag Creatives, her web development and design studio creating intentional digital brands. With 5 years in bridal and 13 years in web and design, she blends strategy with creativity and champions ambitious women through her role as a Perth Ambassador for Brown Boss Babes.

    Vithyaa Thavapalan (Forensic Origin & Cause | SAFA | Brown Boss Babes): Multi award-winning entrepreneur and community leader, plus a global award winner recognised for her impact in the South Asian community. Vithyaa is the Owner and Principal of Forensic Origin & Cause Investigations, founder of The Events House, and Founder and President of South Asian Foundation Australia, home of Brown Boss Babes. Her work spans nationwide programming, the world first South Asian Women Business Awards, and initiatives including Brown Brotherhood and Rising Ranis.


This is more than an event. It is a moment to honour women, amplify voices, and build lasting connections.
