SYD: Swap Till You Drop

We are partnering up with Saree Salon to bring you a clothing swap. We also have Tina Abeysekara from @trashtotreasured joining us to share her story and her tips on personal styling and how to find treasure!

Following Tina, Saru Sivapalan from The Saree Salon will be running a Saree Draping Workshop.

Location: Banksia Room, Wentworthville Community Centre

Please note: if you do not have clothes for the swap that is ok. You can still attend for the Saree Draping Workshop and to meet Tina!

How the day will run:

1. Doors will open at 9:30am. You can bring up to 20 pieces for the swap (can be Western or South Asian).
2. We will then set up your pieces. While you wait, try the food on offer and meet your local community of women.
3. We will then hear from Tina Abeysekara. Who will share her story and offer some tips on personal style and how to find treasure.
4. From 10:30am you will be able to see what items are available and add to your wardrobe. Any leftover items will be donated to charity.
5. At 11:30am, Saru from The Saree Salon will take us through a Saree Draping Workshop. During this workshop, she will explain how to drape different kinds of sarees and also how to get ready for your next event with how to put on the jewellery.

We are raising money for charity. If you would like to donate, we will have the ability to take donations via Card and Cash on the day.

2. Learn how to put on a saree and how to get ready for your next event
3. Knowing your are being more eco-friendly and sustainable by making more use out of your items as opposed to them ending up in landfill.
4. Get to know your local community!
