Time & Location

About the event
You had goals, drive and ambition before you became a mother. And you still do. But somewhere between the mental load, invisible labour, cultural expectations and the pressure to do it all perfectly, ambition can start to feel like something you need to justify.
This intimate lunch and workshop is designed for mothers who are ready to reconnect with themselves beyond the role of caregiver.
Led by Alison Laffrey, founder of For The Love of Mum, the Motherhood and Ambition workshop will explore how motherhood has not diminished your leadership, strength or sense of purpose; it has expanded it.
Through guided reflection, practical tools and honest group conversation, you’ll explore how to:
Understand the identity shift of matrescence and reconnect with who you are beyond caregiving
Quiet the inner critic and release the pressure of the “perfect mother” myth
Reframe the skills motherhood has built, patience, emotional intelligence, resilience, problem-solving and juggling as powerful leadership strengths
Create a rhythm that honours both your family and your ambitions, without guilt
Set boundaries that protect your energy and make space for growth
You’ll leave with a personal workbook, practical tools, meaningful connection, and a renewed way of seeing yourself not as someone who has to choose between motherhood and ambition, but as someone who is allowed to hold both.
About the Facilitator
Alison Laffrey is the founder of For The Love of Mum, a wellbeing brand supporting mothers through every season of motherhood. After a 20-year corporate career, Alison was inspired by her own experience of identity shift in early motherhood to pursue certification in matrescence coaching through the Mama Rising framework. Her work supports mothers through the emotional and psychological transition into motherhood, helping them feel seen, supported and understood. Through seasonal wellbeing boxes, guided rituals, affirmations and digital resources, Alison creates holistic care experiences designed to nurture and empower mothers. She also offers coaching and corporate consulting, advocating for greater awareness of matrescence and more supportive return-to-work experiences for mothers.
