About the event
This August, Chapter 3 of the Literary Society returns with another powerful story and an even more powerful space for connection. Join us for an intimate afternoon of conversation, reflection, and sisterhood as we read Brotherless Night by V.V. Ganeshananthan, a searing novel set in 1980s Sri Lanka that explores memory, resistance, and the complexities of war, womanhood, and truth.
We’re gathering at the warm, welcoming space of Shadow Baking in Marrickville, a community-loved café and bakery known for its comforting atmosphere, seasonal fare, and dedication to handmade goodness found inside Messina Marrickville.
Your registration includes a delicious meal and a drink from the venue, because we believe stories are best shared over food, chai, and community.
This is more than a book club. It’s a space for Brown Boss Babes to connect deeply, with each other and with stories that reflect the richness of our cultures and the depth of our identities.
Brown. Brilliant. Bookish. You belong here.
