About the event

This year's theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.
This year we will have a panel discussion featuring our speakers. The panel will be discussing issues relevant to us as South Asian and Brown Women. Our speakers will also be inspiring us by sharing their journey with us. The good, the bad and the ugly - nothing is off limits for them.
The Speakers & Panellists
Ashani Dante also known as Mandy, is a renowned thought leader, speaker, visionary and Founder of The Flourish Journey (formerly Flourish Girl), with a proven track record in the social impact & business space.
Dr Prasanthi is a General Practitioner and Cosmetic Doctor. Known for her credible, personable approach, she brings a wealth of extensive procedural and clinical expertise with skin, influenced by her own medical experience and having managed her own share of skin conditions growing up. She also is soon to be launching her own skincare line Lorient.
Renuga Inpakumar is a young Eelam Tamil activist that started her active activist journey at the age of 10. In her final year of high school, 2020, she was able to attend the 43rd session of human rights in the United Nations, Geneva Switzerland. Since then she spoken at rallies to raise awareness for the Eelam People and believes the power is in the people that will create the real change that is deserved by all oppressed groups in society such as First Nations and Palestinian people.
Anjana Chandran is an internationally renowned choreographer, dancer and content creator with a following close to a million across her socials. She is one of the most in demand and versatile dancers with genres that include Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Bollywood. It is through art of dance that she was able to learn about Hindu mythology and religion which allowed her embrace her culture and heritage and develop a connection to her community.
The Bazaar
Additionally, there will be a South Asian Market, the BBB Bazaar, which will feature product based businesses owned and operated by South Asian Women!
In celebration of this years theme we are allowing for the first time ever, for men to attend our event. So feel free to bring your partner or friends to celebrate International Women's Day 2024. This is how we ourselves can bridge the gender divide gap.
